2024 City on the Rise
Between 2020 and 2024, Salt Lake City improved its City Ratings score from 46 to 52, establishing itself as a model city putting in the work to become a great place to bike. One notable project is the 9 Line Trail, an off-street, multi-use path built along an old railway line parallel to Salt Lake City’s 900 S thoroughfare. The trail connects multiple neighborhoods along its east-west route across the city.
HELPFUL TIP: INCREASE YOUR CITY RATINGS SCORE BY REDUCING SPEED LIMITS
In 2022, Salt Lake City adopted an ordinance lowering the local speed limit from 25 to 20 miles per hour. Reducing vehicle speeds is critical to increasing City Ratings scores. Learn more about the importance of speed limits here.
