U.K. cities received an average score of 63 out of a possible 100, an increase from last year’s average score of 60, yet still falling behind the rest of Europe with cities scoring an average of 73. The U.K.’s top-rated cities have low speed limits (20 mph) on roads connecting neighborhoods and offer their residents multiple safe routes to everyday destinations. High-scoring cities also feature good connections to neighboring cities via protected bike lanes and off-street paths, including across bridges.
